If you're a kid I imagine that my mom's kitchen is a pretty magical place. She has every antique gizmo and gadget you can imagine in the color red. While Brent and I were there lamenting what we would do with all of this stuff when she's not around anymore we decided to each choose one piece we would keep. I voted for the red handled pickle-grabber (I tried for a link here but, trust me, googling "pickle grabber" isn't very fruitful...and can actually be a little dangerous!). Brent's choice was the woodpecker toothpick picker-upper. Sarah might just have to go for the apple corer, peeler, and spiraler. Not antique but still pretty nifty.
Too funny! I have the same thoughts about the stuff in my parent's house (no offense, Mom (I know you're a lurker here!)). The apple gadget is pretty nifty. . . 3 functions in 1, that beats a pickle grabber any day! :-)

When I took to boys to visit my mom earlier this summer she actually told me to go around and point out the stuff I want to keep! Kind of creepy, but she is 80....
